Zion and Castle Valley Utah // 5/3/2014

After a few weeks working an assignment in Alaska for Patagonia I met Anne Gilbert Chase down in the desert of Utah to catch up on some vitamin D. It felt nice to thaw out after a winter of cold temps, put on the flip flops and get out of the ski boots and into rock shoes. Our trip was shortened due to both of us coming down with a pretty harsh 24 hr flu. We spent a few days in Zion and then headed to Castle Valley. Castle Valley was the highlight of the trip with a day spent climbing Fine Jade on the Rectory and then bumping over to Castleton where we spent the night on top (planned) enjoying the evening sunset of the desert and waking up to on top to watch the sunrise. A much needed stint in the warm desert sun always does the soul good!
